Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of quality-related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Experience with DAQs, sensors, actuators and embedded systems.

Role

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Quality team. We are looking for someone with a solid Quality background and a quality-first mindset. This role will report to the Senior Manager Quality and will be integral to our ‘Nothing Comes Back’ goal.

Responsibilities

  • Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis and Structured Problem Solving (8D)
  • Customer Management in events of Product Failures
  • Non-Conformance Reporting and Management
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on corrective and preventative actions(CAPA)
  • 5S Laboratory Housekeeping
  • Design test fixtures and software solutions to expedite execution of testing
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of quality-related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid experience in setting up and using DAQ’s, sensors and actuators
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly and competent with hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, hand drill etc.)
  • Knowledge of programming tools such as LabView, Python, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of embedded systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, Linux, Bash, etc.
  • Experience in using bench tools (oscilloscope, power analyzer, logic analyzer, multimer, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in testing and qualifying electro-mechanical parts and systems
  • Experience in root-causing product failures, 8D methodology, as well as developing corrective, and preventative actions recommendations
  • Kaizen or ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ, Lean Six Sigma etc.)

Skills

  • Strong data-driven decision-making ability
  • Working knowledge of mechanical & electro-mechanical components and systems
  • Analyzing CAD drawings and product functional & regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work individually, and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to travel up 10% of the time
