Job summary

EarthFresh in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a Quality Control Technician to uphold product quality according to our food safety program and regulatory requirements. You will review incoming/outgoing product against customer specs and support all departments to maintain quality levels.

The role requires GMP/HACCP knowledge, strong documentation, and the ability to lift 50 lbs and work overtime including afternoons and Sundays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years quality control/quality assurance experience within produce industry.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety and health and safety laws and regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Review and inspect all quality standards of incoming/outgoing product according to customer specifications.
• Maintain stringent levels of quality control per product grade and lifespan.
• Conduct quality checks for all non-compliances.
• Coordinate with all departments to ensure QC levels are met and communicate product grades.
• Photograph incoming/outgoing product to document inconsistencies.
• Perform periodic inventory checks of product in the cooler.
• Ensure all records are available to management, QC and CFIA.
• Label shipments with correct lot identification and markings.
• Maintain accurate lot and pallet records and identifications.
• Carry out C-PIQ inspections and monitor procedures and review results.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Ensure compliance with OH&S laws, GMPs and EarthFresh policies.
