OVERVIEW

Lafarge seeks a candidate for the quality control team to provide accurate process control information, ensure testing equipment operates properly, perform concrete testing, and certify that products meet specifications. Daily compliance with CSA standards is required to maintain certification. The candidate will report to the Quality Control Supervisor and collaborate with QC Technicians. The role requires teamwork, a strong work ethic, and continuous improvement.

This is a contract position until October 31, 2025.

Structure

The successful candidate will report to the Quality Control Supervisor and work closely with other QC Technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all duties expected of a QC technician, scheduled as needed. Responsibilities include:

  1. Implement the QC program (inspections, tests, documentation)
  2. Perform concrete tests at plant and in the field
  3. Educate ready-mix drivers on mixes, slumps, air content
  4. Interact with onsite customers
  5. Sample aggregates and measure moisture
  6. Operate and maintain testing equipment
  7. Calibrate equipment as needed
  8. Maintain testing records
  9. Support production technically
  10. Advise production on deficiencies and develop action plans
  11. Complete paperwork manually and electronically
  12. Ensure compliance with CSA standards
  13. Perform other duties as required
  14. Test and verify concrete products on-site or in batching
  15. Follow safety and environmental policies
  16. Use basic computer skills (Word, Excel)

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality control/construction, preferably in concrete. Certifications such as ACI Grade 1 or CCIL preferred.

Prerequisites

Safety-conscious, results-oriented, with strong product knowledge and communication skills. Basic understanding of concrete chemistry, mechanical aptitude, and ability to interpret technical drawings. Physical ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in industrial environments. Teamwork skills required.

Pre-employment medical, drug testing, and background check may be required for safety reasons.
