Description

The Quality Control Supervisor will work at the White Chemical project located in Newark, NJ. The position is primarily responsible for coordinating compliance with quality requirements on Department of Defense (DoD) environmental projects, as defined by Company standards and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate should have experience in environmental or construction projects and be able to work at the project site.

The QCS will ensure work is performed according to contract specifications, building codes, practices, and standards. Responsibilities include:

  1. Promoting and supporting the quality control program daily with subcontractors and project team members
  2. Delivering quality training to project staff, subcontractors, and other attendees as needed
  3. Ensuring required testing is conducted, evaluating results, and documenting outcomes
  4. Inspecting and documenting receipt of materials for compliance
  5. Preparing and reviewing design and material submittals
  6. Completing quality-related documentation accurately and timely
  7. Organizing and uploading documentation to the project portal
  8. Implementing the Three-Phase Control Process per standards and contract requirements
  9. Guiding subcontractors, client representatives, and team members to ensure construction aligns with design
  10. Investigating and resolving construction quality issues
  11. Reporting incidents and ensuring corrective actions are documented and closed out
  12. Initiating stop work or re-work when nonconformance occurs
  13. Collaborating with Health & Safety teams to coordinate responsibilities
  14. Performing other assigned responsibilities as needed
Requirements

This position requires:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Independent thinking and reasoning abilities
  • Skilled in setting up quality control testing equipment
  • Knowledge of compliance in government construction or environmental projects
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and technical documents
  • Effective engagement with subcontractors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, Windows, and related apps
  • Environmental or construction quality control experience
  • At least three years of quality control experience
Education

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicable quality certifications
  • Experience with DoD projects (USACE, Navy, Air Force)
  • USACE CQM training
  • Knowledge of USACE RMS
  • HAZWOPER 40-hour and 8-hour refresher certifications
  • HAZWOPER Supervisor Certification
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification
  • Workplace health and safety knowledge

The targeted salary range for New Jersey is $80,000 to $93,808 annually, with actual salary influenced by education, experience, skills, and location.
