Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Raw Material Supervisor, the Quality Control Sampling Technician is responsible for ensuring that production operations comply with food safety regulations and meet quality standards for processes and products.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform organoleptic analysis for frozen fruits and vegetables (such as taste, smell, Brix, titration).
  2. Prepare reports on non-conformities related to quality issues and communicate with suppliers regarding these issues.
  3. Sample inbound containers of raw materials for microbiological and physiochemical testing.
  4. Conduct health checks and allergen tests on products and equipment.
  5. Sample finished goods when required.
  6. Record sampling details accurately.
  7. Ensure process compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety principles, and SQF standards throughout the production process.
  8. Perform GMP inspections in the production areas.
  9. Prepare samples for customers and assist with shipment packaging.
  10. Perform weekly chemical titrations.
  11. Assist with data entry tasks.
  12. Track incoming raw materials and verify all required information.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
  14. Alternate duties as a backup quality technician.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and French, written and spoken, to serve internal and external clients.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment (asset).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work in cold environments (-5°C).
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary: $19 per hour
