Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • ISO audit experience; lead auditor certification is an asset.
  • General knowledge of steel manufacturing, heat treatment processes, and related machine tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Control Department, managing quality documentation and procedures in compliance with ISO 9000 standards.
  • Oversee quality control and inspection teams: hire, train, coach, and evaluate performance.
  • Coordinate internal audits of ISO systems and process control plans; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate quality issues during manufacturing, implement corrective actions, and communicate solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain quality procedures, process instructions, and various quality reports.
  • Review new product drawings to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Communicate with customers regarding heat treatment practices, specifications, and any quality concerns.
  • Audit suppliers and test centers as needed to resolve quality issues.
  • Advise management on metallurgical and heat treatment practices.
  • Support development of new products, processes, and quality system improvements (e.g., data collection, PPAP, FMEA).
  • Lead experimentation to improve heat treat processes and quality techniques.
  • Oversee tooling design, procurement, and approvals; ensure tooling drawings are kept current.
  • Work with production and maintenance teams to develop and refine process tooling and setup procedures.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the organization.

Position Overview:

TCI is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Control Manager / Tooling Co-ordinator to lead our Quality Control Department and support tooling development. This role ensures company-wide adherence to our ISO 9000 Quality System, maintains high product standards, and drives continuous improvement in processes and tooling.

Key Responsibilities:
