Job summary

Kardium Inc. is seeking a Quality Control professional to oversee incoming inspections and calibration of measurement equipment in Burnaby, BC.

You will program and operate automated measurement systems, research reliable tools, and maintain metrology processes to ensure product quality for the Globe Pulsed Field System. This on-site role requires hands-on metrology experience, drawing interpretation skills, and proficiency with precision tools.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years in Metrology or Quality Control, preferably in regulated manufacturing such as medical devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings to identify dimensional specs.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tensile testers, high‑precision microscopes).
  • Proficiency with coordinated measuring machines (Mitutoyo CMM) and optical measurement systems (Keyence).
  • Basic knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Associate degree or technical diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Programming and operating automated measurement systems (Keyence, Mitutoyo CMM).
  • Researching and recommending reliable measurement systems.
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating measuring equipment.

As a member of the Quality Control Team, you will have direct responsibility for incoming inspection activities to support the development, manufacturing, and sales of Kardium products.

Please note that this opportunity is an on-site work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Performing incoming inspections of purchased materials according to established specifications and procedures.
  • Programming and operating automated measurement systems, such as Keyence Imaging System and Mitutoyo CMM.
  • Researching and recommending reliable measurement systems.
  • Conducting the cleaning, maintenance, and calibration of measuring equipment.
  • Implementing 5S good practices in the metrology lab.
  • Training new employees on the existing measurement tools.
  • Producing formal reports of the inspection and measurement results and initiating non-conformity reports (NCR) when required.
What you bring to the team

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

  • 1+ years of hands-on Metrology or Quality Control experience, preferably in regulated manufacturing industries, such as medical devices or automotive.
  • An ability to interpret mechanical drawings to understand specified dimensional and functional characteristics to be measured, tested, or inspected.
  • Proficiency with test and measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tensile testers, and high-precision microscopes.
  • Experience with coordinated measuring machines (e.g.: Mitutoyo CMM) and optical measurement systems (e.g.: Keyence).
  • Basic knowledge of the Solidworks software is preferred.
  • An associate degree or diploma in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or related experience.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills.
  • The willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.
Compensation

Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% Retirement Savings Plan contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates withmore or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $55,000 – $68,000 (CAD Annually)

The total cash we’ve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus an annual contribution to a Retirement Savings Plan accountto help support your financial goals.
