Job description

Quality Control Inspector – Fabrication and Rubber Lining

Location - Surrey, BC

Work Arrangement - Onsite, split shift (initially day shift for training, then 11:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.)

What You’ll Do
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Perform receiving inspections of raw materials and fabrications from suppliers and subcontractors, including physical goods and quality documents, ensuring acceptance, rejection, or correction as required. Conduct in-process and final inspections of fabricated steel and rubber-lined products to verify compliance with drawings, internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document inspection results by completing reports, signoffs, and logs. Build quality document packages for customer submission and review quality documents for subcontracted fabrications. Generate nonconformance reports as needed.
  • Technical Expertise: Read and interpret technical drawings and regulatory and customer specifications. Apply knowledge of MTRs, NDE, welding codes, and rubber lining specifications.

Must-haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical-related field or 5 years of quality control experience in metal fabrications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience inspecting fabricated steel and/or rubber-lined products
  • CSA W178.2 Level II Weld Inspector certification
  • CGSB Level 2 MPI/LPI certification or eligibility for certification
Nice-to-haves
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment
  • AMPP CIP (NACE) level 1 or 2 certification
  • First Aid certification and confined space entry training
  • Experience with SAP and intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat)

Compensation: $49-53/hr
