Job description

Plum Gas Solutions Inc. (“Plum”) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to ensure Plum’s natural gas industry equipment and products meet established quality standards. The QC person is responsible for inspecting materials, components, and final products, identifying defects or deviations, and documenting findings accurately. This role plays a vital part in maintaining product integrity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Plum’s application and activities to achieve ABSA (Alberta Certified) vessel construction and North America ASME U stamp vessel construction certification and subsequently maintain these certifications.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Use measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records in line with company and regulatory standards.
  • Identify, report, and segregate non-conforming products and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Ensure products meet quality and safety requirements before release or shipment.
  • Work closely with production staff to communicate and resolve quality concerns.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Assist in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations in the inspection process.
  • Maintain QC records and generate quality performance reports and metrics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or quality-related certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or a related role.
  • Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ABSA).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good visual acuity.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inspection or ERP software is preferred.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Having a trade in the industry would be an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • May require lifting of up to 50 lbs depending on product type.
