Job Description

Summary:

Primary responsibility will be to perform electronic production testing. Additional responsibilities will require candidate to design, build test boxes and cables with limited drawings, schematics, sketches and verbal instructions. Additional responsibilities will be to support qualification, environmental and production testing. Senior level technicians will assist design, sustaining and quality engineers in documenting, testing and reviewing test results for pass/fail criteria in a precise and accurate manner. Responsible for functional testing and data collection for electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure quality conformance. The Production Quality Control Technician has the responsibility to lead, train and mentor junior level test technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build test boxes and cables to existing design and/or duplicating existing test box and cables with limited documentation, i.e., written and verbal instructions.
  • Follow work instructions, test procedures and verbal direction to perform functional system and electronic testing.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems at component, module or system level.
  • Assist engineers in writing, performing and validating test procedures.
  • Assemble optical, electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Evaluate performance of systems, record results, and write performance test reports.
  • Assemble PCBs, cables, flex-harnesses, etc., and perform tests on sub and final assemblies.
  • Responsible for environmental testing, support equipment and hardware, fixturing, programming (meet customer specifications) and data collection for in-house and outside testing laboratories.
  • Responsible to perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.

Position Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years related manufacturing test and repair experience.
  • Ability to operate various types of hand tools and test equipment such as Volt-Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, and Logic Analyzer.
  • Computer skills for utilizing data sheets and graphs for inputting and recording data.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and interpret informal sketches and instructions.
  • Experienced with desktop, mobile, and web client operating systems.
  • Experienced with system test and integration using graphic programming languages, i.e., Labview, TestStand, ATEasy, VBA, etc., is a plus.
  • Experienced with environmental qualification testing, i.e., vibration, thermal, shock, EMI, etc., per military standards.
  • Knowledge and working understanding of AS9100, desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to be attentive to detail and accuracy.

Education Requirements:

  • College diploma in electronics (DEC) or related field.
  • Knowledge of recent electronic circuit techniques and some knowledge of mechanics.
