We are hiring a Quality Control Coordinator for our Food Manufacturing client.

This position is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and data-driven individual. The role is critical to operations and the industry, requiring strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with personable communication, as it involves direct interaction with customers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a QC position, preferably in food manufacturing
  • Degree in agriculture, food science, or a related field
  • Unionized role, fully in-office
  • Reliable vehicle and valid Driver's License
About Our Client

Our client is a regulatory body in British Columbia overseeing the production, transportation, packaging, storage, and marketing of fluid and manufactured products within the province.

About The Opportunity

The Quality Control Coordinator oversees collection and testing of daily quality results, ensuring data accuracy for timely reporting. Responsibilities include collaborating with industry partners on quality issues, backup transportation coordination, and after-hours support.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate collection and testing of quality results
  2. Validate and process sample data, upload to IT systems
  3. Manage quality program reporting systems
  4. Report quality data to management
  5. Handle non-qualifying products, disposal, and notifications
  6. Evaluate and improve quality programs
  7. Investigate quality issues with stakeholders
  8. Provide research support for management
  9. Support operational areas as backup
  10. Track raw material inventories
  11. Respond to inquiries from producers and stakeholders
  12. Prepare reports and communicate with labs, government, and industry partners
  13. Develop communications and address producer complaints
  14. Backup Transportation Coordinator; support after-hours as needed
  15. Travel to laboratories and producers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, food science, or related
  • Training or experience with HACCP principles
  • 5-7 years in laboratory testing or farm advisory services
  • Knowledge of microbiology, biology, chemistry, statistics
  • Experience analyzing and reporting technical data
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills for customer interaction
  • Ability to research, investigate, and communicate findings
  • Attention to detail and record accuracy
  • Strong coordination and follow-through skills
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to pass background and education checks
