Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Quality Compliance Lead to support initial reviews and technical prep for projects, maintain major certifications, and drive continual improvement through planned audits and pre-qualification of vendors.

The role ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards and involves training colleagues on QMS/ICMS, while fostering a culture of safety and quality across Aecon Industrial.

Qualifications

  • CSA 178.2 Level I or II with B31.3 endorsement.
  • Technical Education (WET or MET) or Journeyman certification.
  • Experience in reviewing isometric drawings.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, ASME Section VIII, CSA A23.1, CSA B51.
  • Exposure to auditing activities or formal training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service focus and teamwork.
  • Willingness to continually learn and advance technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming packages from a technical/quality perspective to ensure we are qualified to perform activities and flag concerns.
  • Prepare preliminary documentation including Quality Plans, Questionnaires, ITPs, welding matrices for potential work.
  • Support creation of preliminary documentation post-award.
  • Maintain certifications (CWB, CSA B51, ASME) and schedule audits with NCR/CAR closures.
  • Provide training on the QMS and ICMS as needed.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives through recommendations and assessments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Quality Compliance Lead shall support the initial review and technical preparation for potential or awarded projects, maintenance of existing certifications, the continual improvement initiative through strategically planned audits, surveillances, and when required, the pre-qualification of potential vendors.

What You'll Do Here
  • Review incoming packages from a technical/quality perspective to ensure that we are qualified to perform the activities and to highlight any specific concerns and/or exceptions to be considered.
  • Prepare and complete preliminary documentation including Quality Plans, Quality Questionnaires, ITPs, welding matrices, etc. for potential or proposed work.
  • Support the creation of preliminary documentation post-award.
  • Maintain existing certifications including CWB, CSA B51, and ASME, including the scheduling and preparation for perpetual audits, and the effective closure of any resulting NCRs, CARs, etc.
  • Provide training on the existing QMS to those new to the organization or those requiring additional exposure.
  • Provide training and support on ICMS where required.
  • Support continual improvement initiatives through recommendations, amendments, implementation, and assessment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Team
  • CSA 178.2 Level I or II with B31.3 endorsement (W47.1/W59/Section VIII/Section IX an asset).
  • Technical Education (WET or MET) or Journeyman certification is an asset.
  • Experience in reviewing isometric drawings.
  • Knowledge of various codes of construction including ASME B31.1, B31.3, ASME Section VIII, CSA A23.1, and CSA B51.
  • Exposure to auditing activities or formal training.
  • Demonstrated computer software proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent and proven organizational skills in order to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work environment.
