Quality Automation Engineer

As a Quality Automation Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. How you will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

  • Collaborate with product managers and scrum masters to understand requirements and define the scope and objectives of QA testing.
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases across multiple projects.
  • Execute various types of testing, including functional, regression, load, and system testing.
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers and developers to ensure requirements are clearly understood and quality goals are achieved.
  • Define and articulate quality acceptance criteria for new features and releases.
  • Ensure the overall quality and reliability of the product through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and automation frameworks.
  • Maintain a strong focus on automation and scalability in testing practices.

To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in software testing (professional or academic).
  • Strong communicator with sharp attention to detail.
  • Skilled in testing web apps across browsers and devices.
  • Familiar with API testing, systems integration, and SDLC.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experienced with Agile methodologies and black-box testing.
  • Proficient in test planning, case creation, and issue tracking tools.
  • Comfortable with databases and command-line environments (Windows, macOS, Unix).
  • Basic understanding of programming and AI concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using logs and diagnostics.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
  • Scripting experience for automation tasks.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Jasmine, Cypress, or similar.
  • Background in programming or software development.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Current range: $58,950 - $98,250. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country-specific benefits.
