Job description

Job Summary

As a Quality Assurance Lead, you are responsible for facilitating the raw goods, in-process, and finished goods quality process audits, and inspections to maintain product quality assurance and adherence to all engineering specifications.

Job Duties

  • Operate test equipment to determine if component parts and/or the finished product function within company quality standards
  • Audit the work of production employees to ensure that they have followed engineering specifications
  • Assist with inspection of internal machined parts to ensure they meet our specifications on an as needed basis
  • Inspect incoming fabricated and purchased parts to ensure they meet our specifications
  • Receive information through the Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Return Material Authorization (RMA) process regarding customer complaints, conduct an investigation, and complete reports on the cause/solution to the reported problem
  • Implement and assess Quality system processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Investigate and resolve all quality issues using root cause analysis and apply corrective action including reporting on scrap and rework
  • Facilitate communication of issues and resolution to all pertinent departments
  • Assist manufacturing personnel regarding quality problems; This may include working with Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, or other involved departments
  • Maintain records related to all aspects of quality operations
  • Act as a representative for the Barrie QMS on the Corporate Quality Council
  • Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor or Senior Leadership team

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary education in a related field is preferred
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a quality related position
  • Exposure to Quality Management Systems (i.e. ISO related environments) within a lean manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Working knowledge of quality measurement tools (i.e. digital calipers, height gauge)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Intermediate computer skills including microsoft office

Hourly Wae Range: $25-32 CAD based on experience.
