Job description

Quality Assurance Tester

Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Kerby-Reid, are seeking to fill a Quality Assurance (QA) Tester position for their office located in St. John's, Newfoundland.

Position Summary:

The QA Tester will ensure software quality by performing testing procedures, creating test plans and executing test cases. They will monitor and report bugs, provide feedback, and collaborate with development teams for an optimal final product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual and automated testing to ensure software quality
  • Develop and execute test plans, cases, scripts, plans, and procedures
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely releases
  • Design and implement testing strategies that align with project goals
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Provide clear and concise reports on testing status and results
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the quality assurance process and methodologies
  • Collaborate with developers to understand software features and resolve defects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. OR equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software testing
  • Experience with bug tracking tools and test management tools
  • Understanding of Software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience in test planning, test case creation, and test execution
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies and test automation tools
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot software issues
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to document test results accurately
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving (why and the how) and analytical skills
  • Bilingual in French/English is an asset but not required.
