Quality Assurance Technician (Night)
This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for managing Non-Conforming Reports (NCR), rejected materials, quality control, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities during various stages of operation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspecting products according to requirements, standards, and specifications;
- Creating and updating quality log sheets, quality alerts, and standard work instructions;
- Assisting with the implementation of new products on the shop floor;
- Updating weekly quality metrics as required;
- Leading problem-solving events related to product improvement and enhancement;
- Providing technical support on quality issues; and
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Technology, Industrial, or equivalent preferred; Yellow Belt Six Sigma, SQE, or CQT certification is a strong asset;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing and fabrication in a related field;
- Ability to read architectural drawings and utilize quality-related tools and methods;
- Familiarity with PPAP processes and documentation;
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders;
- Knowledge of extrusion processes for mills, profiles, window walls, curtain walls, and door fabrication or installation;
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
- Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office;
- Ability to work on multiple large, complex projects independently and as part of a team;
- High social interaction and communication skills; and
- Alignment with State’s core values and safety standards, with flexibility to work overtime.
Working Conditions
- May involve heavy lifting, indoor work, and adherence to safety rules;
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, and noise during site visits;
- Mandatory PPE usage in the plant;
- Compliance with health and safety standards; and
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
