The role

Reporting to the QA Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring the production operations are conducted in accordance with food safety rules and are compliant with the quality standards for processes and products.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality testing of food products.
  • Sample finish goods when required.
  • Record the sampling details.
  • Communicate with third party warehouses.
  • Raw material approval and allocation.
  • Document and record results as instructed.
  • Perform GMP inspections in the production room.
  • Perform weekly environmental swabs.
  • Finish product release.
  • Conduct training for new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned by operational needs.
Qualifications & Skills
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a Quality Control Technician.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate in English or French, written and spoken, to serve internal and external clients.
  • Diploma of College Studies (D.E.C.) in Science or another related field is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
