Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Duration : Full Time Position

Security Clearance Required : Secret Clearance (**See ‘Additional Information’)

We are recruiting for our client, the Department of National Defence, for Quality Assurance Specialists to provide QA support to the Department for a range of software products.

Overview/Requirement:

  1. Execute or draft quality assurance and control test plans, test scripts and test data.
  2. Participate in functional and technical design reviews, perform integration/functional and system testing, and verify test results.
  3. Identify and document software defects.
  4. Participate with other project resources to resolve defects.
  5. Draft and develop software quality reports.
  6. Perform regression testing of software applications.

Technical Criteria

  1. Walkthrough quality assurance test plan, procedures, and test reports with user facing client.
  2. Planning, coordinating, and executing one or multiple levels of quality assurance testing (product level, System, documentation).
  3. Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
  4. Conduct focus area design, technical, and management reviews to monitor, advise, and report on progress and potential problems.

Education:

Must have: University degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development or similar discipline.

Lived Experience:

Indigenous lived experience is an integral part of this position. The role will have a close relationship with the Indigenous Community in Canada and for Government of Canada positions that are part of the PSIB-Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business or IPP-Indigenous Participation Plans. Candidates will be required to have Indigenous lived experience from Canada’s Indigenous community to perform the role.
