Job Description

The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $96,000 - $130,000 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Red Wing Shoe Company is seeking a qualified professional to be responsible for providing leadership for ensuring compliance with company quality requirements for footwear, leather, and raw materials, and driving optimization of quality processes and people capabilities to achieve function, supply chain, and company performance metrics: safety, quality, cost, delivery, people.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage, empower, and develop an effective functional quality team through appropriate selection, coaching/training/development, reward/recognition, communication, and enforcement/role modeling of company policies and procedures.
  2. Provide leadership for ensuring compliance with company quality and regulatory requirements.
  3. Participate in the development and effective implementation of quality strategies to optimize current capabilities. Identify future needs and formulate/implement action plans.
  4. Oversee quality improvement projects, assuring execution to plan, early identification/remediation of corrective measures, and engagement of appropriate stakeholders.
  5. Provide quality expertise throughout the product lifecycle, including product creation, commercialization, domestic/3rd party manufacturing, shipping, and customer inquiries.
  6. Develop product traceability processes and systems and provide leadership for their execution.
  7. Ensure the Post Market Quality team evaluates field performance, analyzes trends against goals/predictions, and recommends corrective actions when necessary.
  8. Provide program management support and leadership for resolving critical quality issues, including oversight and guidance for impact assessments.
  9. Serve as a CAPA Board Member, providing critical oversight to investigations and actions.

OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain knowledge of RWSC's electronic communication and other systems to obtain necessary information.
  2. Develop and document detailed footwear quality standards by style or product family.
  3. Maintain quality service by developing and maintaining department-level quality system procedures (QSPs) and standards.
  4. Uphold and role model Red Wing Shoe Company's core values, policies, and procedures.
  5. Safeguard the company's assets, treating all technical developments, operational data, salary and wages information, customer lists, and similar data as required.
  6. Comply with all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
  7. Establish and maintain strong industry networks and continuous learning to stay informed of industry standards and innovative practices.
  8. Complete other duties as assigned by your manager.
  9. Footwear manufacturing experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, seeing, listening, talking, keyboarding.
  • Occasional climbing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Located in an office environment with significant time spent in manufacturing facilities.
  • Frequent domestic and occasional international travel.
