With offices in Burnaby, Vancouver, Kelowna, and Calgary, we deliver high-quality electrical, data, and fibre optic solutions for industrial, commercial, and residential projects. Known for our professionalism, safety, and customer-focused approach, we’ve been helping clients "Connect with Confidence" for nearly a century.

About the Role

Mott Electric is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA/QC Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of quality assurance and quality control processes across our major electrical construction projects.

This role will be responsible for establishing and managing project quality plans, inspections, turnover documentation, audit requirements, and quality reporting processes. As project demands evolve, the position will expand to support other major projects and help advance consistent quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives across Mott Electric.

This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape Mott Electric's future quality management program while supporting some of British Columbia's most complex and impactful construction projects

Responsibilities
  • Project Quality Management: Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Management Plans. Establish project-specific QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements, and documentation standards while ensuring compliance with client requirements, specifications, drawings, and regulatory standards.
  • Inspection & Testing: Develop Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), coordinate inspections with project teams and stakeholders, manage quality checklists and sign-off documentation, and monitor quality performance throughout all phases of construction.
  • Deficiency & NCR Management: Lead the management of deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCRs), investigate quality issues, identify root causes, implement corrective and preventative actions, and ensure timely resolution of quality concerns.
  • Documentation & Turnover: Maintain quality records and documentation, including inspection reports, test results, commissioning records, and turnover packages. Coordinate project closeout activities and ensure all required documentation is complete and organized prior to submission.
  • Quality Audits & Compliance: Plan and coordinate quality audits and inspections, document findings, assign follow-up actions, and verify the successful resolution of identified issues. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, codes, specifications, and client quality expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop quality metrics and reporting tools, identify trends and recurring issues, gather lessons learned, and support the implementation of standardized quality practices across Mott Electric projects.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and practical training to project managers, superintendents, forepersons, and field staff on inspection requirements, quality standards, turnover expectations, and documentation requirements.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Relations: Work closely with project teams, clients, consultants, and operational leadership to communicate quality risks, priorities, corrective actions, and project quality performance.
  • Leadership: Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while supporting project teams in achieving quality objectives and successful project outcomes.
  • Safety & Risk Management: Promote safe work practices while identifying and addressing quality risks that could impact project performance, compliance, schedule, or client satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in QA/QC, quality management, commissioning, project turnover, or electrical construction project management.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, quality assurance processes, and quality control programs.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality management procedures, inspection plans, and turnover documentation processes.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements, specifications, construction drawings, codes, and industry standards.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with construction documentation and project management software.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Electrician certification, Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, or related technical education.
  • Experience on large-scale industrial, commercial, infrastructure, healthcare, or institutional construction projects.
  • Experience managing NCRs, commissioning documentation, turnover packages, or quality auditing programs.
