Job description

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Inspector is responsible for carrying out compliance and inspection processes for all received and manufactured products at Argus.

What You’ll Do

  1. Interpret production order information, including material grade, size, thread description, and part description.
  2. Understand the sequence of operations for a production order.
  3. Support Machinists with setup of premium gauges to required specifications and standards for manufacturing, proficiently and accurately.
  4. Review documents, drawing numbers and revisions, material requirements, and stamping requirements, ensuring current versions are referenced.
  5. Read and interpret drawings, including understanding stamping/stenciling information from drawings.
  6. Use measuring instruments and gauges to ensure product quality standards are met.
  7. Perform efficient receiving inspection, first off, in-process, and last-off inspections of CNC and manual manufactured parts.
  8. Maintain, file, and ensure inspection sheets are complete for Argus and customer products.
  9. Verify calibration of instruments and gauges is up to date.
  10. Undertake inspections and complete reports for special processes including swaging, stress relief, abrasive blasting, phosphating, and torques.
  11. Conduct phosphate tank testing.
  12. Responsible for final inspection, verifying all processes and documentation are completed and ready for shipment.
  13. Verify documentation complies with customer requirements at shipping time and provide the document package to shipping.
  14. Report and record all Non-conforming (NCR) products to the QA Supervisor.
  15. Provide peer training to new QA department employees.
  16. Assist with general QA and shop tasks as required.

What You Bring

  1. 3+ years’ experience in a Quality assurance/control position preferred.
  2. High School Diploma required.
  3. Meet vision examination requirements of ASNT spec SNT-TC-1A.
  4. Working knowledge of measuring instruments, optical comparator, work instructions, and Licensor specifications.
  5. Quality System and Licensor training as required.
  6. Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Dynamics AX.
  7. General knowledge of products and services in the oil and gas industry.
  8. Strong understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles, with the ability to teach others.
