Job description

Our client, a major oil and gas producer, is seeking a QA Auditor based out of their downtown Calgary office, with frequent travel required within Canada and the U.S. This role will follow a Monday-Friday shift, working 8-hour days.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Planning, scheduling, and conducting audit activities in compliance with QA auditing principles, practices, and procedures.
  2. Initiating and maintaining effective communication with auditees, sponsors, and technical authorities.
  3. Ensuring all documentation related to the audit scope (e.g., checklist, criteria, references, notification letters, plan/agenda) is current and complete.
  4. Investigating compliance levels with reference documents and assessing relevant risks.
  5. Identifying deviations/findings, preparing Non-Compliance Reports, and following up to close these reports.
  6. Documenting audit processes and findings through comprehensive Audit Reports.
Skills & Qualifications:
  1. An engineering degree, preferably registered or eligible for registration with APEGA, with experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Degrees in Mechanical, Materials, Welding, or Industrial engineering are assets.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Projects or In-service Quality Assurance, focusing on conducting and managing Quality Systems audits.
  3. Lead Auditor certification in QMS, OHS, or EMS (preferably QMS) from a reputable international organization (e.g., IRCA, Exemplar Global) is an asset.
  4. Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green/Black Belt) is an asset.
  5. Strong knowledge of industry standards (ISO, CSA, API, ASME, Alberta Safety Codes Act - ABSA) and their application.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with keen attention to detail.
