Job description

The Quality Assurance Chemist will be responsible for the routine and nonroutine QA testing on raw, intermediate, and finished products. Accountability includes validating methods and maintaining Quality assurance data and records. The Quality Assurance Chemist performs testing and provides continuous support to external and in internal customers in accordance with the Quality Management System. This role has a deadline of December 31, 2023.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to :

  • Ensure a focus on quality, service excellence and efficiency within areas of responsibility
  • Routine Quality Assurance testing; provide guidance and evaluation of raw materials and Blending Plant products
  • Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization
  • Observe all established Safety protocols and actively participate in Health and Safety Program
  • Contribute to Laboratory documentation as related to Safety, Quality, and training
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications / Competencies

The individual in this role will have :

  • 3-5 years experience in a in a manufacturing sector plant Quality Laboratory
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related Technical Diploma or Degree from SAIT / NAIT
  • Adherence to SECURE’s Occupational Health and Safety Standards
  • Oil and Gas production chemicals experience is an asset
  • Excellent at verbal and written technical communication
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Understand urgency of actions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving expertise
  • Detail oriented and demonstrate interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong customer service focus skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable
