Salary Range : $58,558.16 - $64,361.22

Reports To : Manager,Quality Assurance

Location : Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton (Hybrid Work : 3 days in office)

The opportunity

TVO is seeking a candidate with an ISTQB certification, a strong Quality Assurance mindset, and experience in both online learning and the software development lifecycle. This role is essential to ensuring the functionality and reliability of our digital products.

How you will make an impact

  • Review software requirements with cross-functional Teams
  • Follow established QA standards and practices in all aspects of QA testing lifecycle
  • Apply various testing methodologies and techniques such as manual, automated, sanity, regression testing and end-to-end with a clear understanding of when, where and how to
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance (QA) Manager and cross functional team members in the creation of test plans / test strategy
  • Develop and maintain testcases as per requirements, execute and analyze test results, escalating issues to development teams as needed.
  • Log defects and produce bug reports (Clear and concise bug reports) with attention to detail in identifying inconsistencies and usability issues
  • Perform root-cause analysis / troubleshooting with the project team
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings, provide QA status updates, assessing go-live readiness and product release process
  • Participate in project closure activities
  • Provide on-going support for live applications
  • Prioritize and manage own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines
  • Identify and support process improvements leading to higher quality standards

What you will bring to TVO

  • Three-year diploma / degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Quality Assurance domain testing learning management or student record systems, websites, online games, web tools or mobile applications
  • Solid QA experience in understanding business concepts, systems integration, deployment verification, and being able to accurately define Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Strategy with a ' break the system ' mindset
  • Ability to execute test cases with a strong level of competency in various test environments and understand the purpose of the testing in the environment
  • Experience reviewing business, software requirements documents, documenting and logging defects
  • Knowledge and use of test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA and XRay
  • Proven knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Basic SQL knowledge
  • Experience with API testing
  • Familiarity with UAT testing or training
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills, with a proven ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Strong attention to detail, focus on accuracy and responsiveness, as well as end user impact
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, shows initiative and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to focus on the Customer and Client experience
  • Strong overall communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience with automated test development and execution is an asset
