Job Type: Contract

Primary Location: Hybrid Remote – Ottawa, Ontario (on-site work required in Ottawa, as requested)

We currently have an opportunity for an Intermediate Manual Tester with mobile/web application and blockchain experience, supporting a partner of ours in the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of test plans, test scenarios, test scripts and test data;
  • Participate in functional and technical design reviews, perform integration/functional and system testing, and verify test results;
  • Supervise testing in accordance with established plans;
  • Provide management and monitoring of test plans for all levels of testing (including but not limited to unit test, integration testing and regression testing with emphasis on automating the testing procedures);
  • Establish and operate "interoperability" testing procedures to ensure that the interaction and co-existence of various software elements, which are proposed to be distributed on the common infrastructure, conform to appropriate departmental standards (e.g., performance, compatibility, etc.) and have no unforeseen detrimental effects on the shared infrastructure;
  • Establish a validation and verification capability which assumes functional and performance compliance;
  • Provide management of walkthroughs and reviews related to testing and implementation readiness;
  • Identify and document defects;
  • Participate with other project resources to resolve defects;
  • Perform regression testing of software applications;
  • Coach, mentor and train the organization to perform any of the above.

Looking For:

  • Software knowledge in MS Office, Process Mapping Software (e.g., MS Visio), SharePoint, Dynamics AX/D365 ERP, Azure DevOps, Cloud applications, Product Lifecycle Management software, Defect Management Software (e.g., Jira, Footprints).
  • Knowledge/Experience with Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall SDLC methodologies;
  • Knowledge/experience with Blockchain technology is an asset;
  • Knowledge/experience with HRIS applications is an asset;
  • Knowledge/experience with Translation Management System & Computer Assisted Translation applications is an asset;
  • English is essential. Bilingualism is an asset;
  • Government of Canada Security Clearance highly desired.
