Job summary

Omega AS is seeking a Research and Technology - Quality Assurance Analyst for our major Oil & Gas client in Calgary, AB. The role focuses on managing the Laboratory Quality Assurance System and coordinating QC activities.

Candidate will evaluate data quality, monitor test accuracy, and generate performance indicators while supporting compliance with regulatory requirements in water, wastewater and petroleum sectors. One-year assignment with potential extension.

Qualifications

• P.Eng designation or eligibility before start date.
• Mechanical engineering degree required.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory procedures in water, wastewater and petroleum industries.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and data quality in relevant industries.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and QC data analysis.
• Nice to have: downhole tool experience.
• Nice to have: materials science specialization.
• Nice to have: metrology experience.
• Nice to have: design or drafting experience.

Assignment Description

Assist in managing and stewarding the Laboratory Quality Assurance System

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scheduling quality control and crosscheck programs
• Coordinating and preparing batches of quality control samples
• Evaluating and monitoring test accuracy and Performance Report (PR) using statistical tools
• Compiling key Lab Performance Indicators
• Troubleshooting operational errors related to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Assist Quality Assurance Coordinator in managing a stewarding the Laboratory Quality Assurance System

Qualifications Required

• Must Have a P. Eng or can obtain it prior to start date
• Must Have a degree in mechanical, not electronics engineering
• Strong knowledge of standard industry and regulatory procedures, both in water, wastewater and petroleum industries.
• Experience in various regulatory requirements in order to assist in keeping Company in compliance
• Experience in data quality control review in water, wastewater and petroleum methodologies
• Have downhole tool experience (nice to have, not a must)
• Have either experience or specialization in materials science (nice to have, not a must)
• Have experience in metrology (nice to have, not a must)
• Have design or drafting experience (nice to have, not a must)

Duration

One year (with possibility of extension )
