Mission: The Quality and Environmental Lead is responsible for ensuring a fully compliant system for all locations within the customer centres (CC) and the distribution centres (DC) across Canada. This includes creating and evaluating the quality and the environmental programs, including the sustainability program in alignment with the global 2030 targets. This position reports to the SHEQ Manager and is located in Lively, Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting that the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System are being followed and maintained across relevant processes.
  • Ensure all quality and environmental practices align with My Epiroc Way standards.
  • Developed and actively participated in internal audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, ensuring adherence to standards and continuous improvement.
  • Support quality issues that require corrective action analysis by developing and implementing an action plan to resolve the issue and ensure follow-up with the supplier to confirm completion and effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in operations that enhance efficiency and increase customer satisfaction through improved quality.
  • Leading and evaluating environmental projects to ensure alignment with Epiroc's goals.
  • Collect and analyze sustainability-related data, including energy bills, water bills, natural gas bills, transportation emissions reports and other utilities for facilities across Canada.
  • Monitor and manage waste management processes by receiving reports from suppliers.
  • Led the development of the Sustainability reports from start to finish, making sure all the data was accurate and in line with Epiroc goals.
  • Create comprehensive policies, procedures, and instructions to promote a sustainability and quality culture within the organization.
  • Managed the handling and documentation of chemicals across all Epiroc locations in the ChemWatch system.
  • Provided ongoing support and guidance for the TDG process to ensure compliance and efficiency.

The ideal candidate:

  • Required to have 3-5 years of experience in quality management systems
  • Experience within the ISO Standards – ISO 9001 and 14001 (especially internal and external audits).
  • Experience with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and process improvements.
  • Involvement in sustainability initiatives, such as reducing waste, managing energy consumption, and improving resource efficiency
  • Post-secondary education in a related field. (i.e., Industrial Engineering, Sustainability studies, Environmental engineering)
  • Strong background in data analysis and statistics.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Internal Auditor certification ISO 9001/14001. (Is an asset)
  • Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other continuous improvement methods
  • Ability to perform a gap analysis to determine areas of concern, then detail a plan to correct.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for managing reports, tracking data, and preparing presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills. (verbal and written)
  • Willing to develop strong relations with the Global SHEQ team.
  • Willing to travel if necessary ( and international); less than 30% of the time.
  • Ability to represent Epiroc professionally and ethically.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead projects, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Pay high attention to detail when managing processes, audits, and assessments.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving regulations and industry standards, and to lead the organization through change.
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
