Job summary

Héroux-Devtek in Longueuil is offering a student internship in the industrial engineering space. The role focuses on governance of quality metrics for plating and machining, and on supporting improvement projects within production environments.

You will participate in meetings, analyze data, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, with English communications required. Applicants are current engineering students with strong organization, autonomy, teamwork, and resourcefulness.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an engineering program (industrial, aerospace, mechanical, or related).
• Ability to communicate in English with suppliers, clients, auditors and subsidiaries.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead weekly quality-metrics governance meeting for plating and machining.
• Lead two daily meetings to review production quality issues (plating and machining).
• Maintain a production database on non-quality incidents.
• Analyze production data to guide improvement projects in plating and machining.
• Support continuous improvement projects as needed.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead a weekly meeting on quality metrics governance for the plating and machining department
• Prepare and lead two daily meetings on reviewing quality issues in production (plating and machining)
• Maintain a production database on non-quality
• Analyze production data to guide improvement projects in the plating and machining departments
• Support any continuous improvement project as needed

The student will have autonomy in managing the major continuous improvement project and will also be involved in several other related projects.
