Job summary

Héroux-Devtek seeks an intern to support accident analysis, HSE data, and safety training at our Longueuil plant. You will work with maintenance, HR/OHS, and production teams to improve health, safety, and environmental practices.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in HR and Health & Safety programs, with strong organizational and teamwork skills, and the ability to communicate across departments. Hybrid work and ongoing professional training are available.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university program in Human Resources and Health and Safety, or a related field.
• At least two years completed in the undergraduate program or currently pursuing the degree.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the accident analysis process and HSE KPI data updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental practices.
• Conduct walkthroughs with supervisors and management and follow up on corrective actions.
• Prepare Health and Safety Committee reports and update safety data sheets.
• Provide HSE training and collaborate with maintenance, HR/OHS, purchasing, technical and production teams.
• Create and monitor HSE alerts and follow the respiratory protection program.
• Participate in HSC meetings and action follow-ups.
• Update safety data sheets and contribute to preventive maintenance execution.
• Provide induction training to new employees and participate in intervention meetings.

Main Responsibilities

The intern will participate in the accident analysis process, the health and safety committee, plant walkthroughs, and the updating of HSE KPI data. The intern will contribute to the continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental practices.

The intern will conduct walkthroughs with supervisors and members of management, follow up on corrective actions, prepare Health and Safety Committee (HSC) reports, participate in updating safety data sheets, and provide HSE training.

As part of his projects, the intern will work closely with maintenance workers, HR/OHS partners, and the purchasing, technical, and production teams.

• Creation and monitoring of HSE alerts


• Follow-up with workers on the respiratory protection program


• Participation in HSC meetings, preparation of reports, and follow-up on corrective actions


• Conduct factory tours to verify compliance with HSE procedures


• Update safety data sheets


• Participate in accident investigations and follow up on actions taken


• Evaluate workstations and suggest improvements


• Contribute to improving the execution of preventive maintenance


• Provide induction training to new employees


• Participate in intervention team meetings and follow up on actions taken
