Operational Context

The holder of this function must contribute to improving the quality level of new and customer vehicles in a context of ever more ambitious quality objectives. The position requires great responsiveness in order to meet quality and production requirements. The candidate must be autonomous in decision-making (or lead if necessary) to modify the automotive product or the process to guarantee the quality of the vehicles.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Define containment actions to apply for customer protection (including supplier Issues).
  • Conduct vehicle issue diagnosis and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure that the team carries out the pre-analysis activities on time.
  • Perform risk assessments and lead corrective action plans.
  • Guarantee the product-process maturity of the components of the management of serial life (windows change management).
  • Propose alternative product solutions in case of issues (such as shortages) to avoid stopping mass production in the plant.
  • Participate in Quality ENG tech clubs.
  • Implement good ideas and standards (Read Across).
  • Ensure the right application in the plant of the technical requirements and the meta function "métiers" standards of his perimeter.
  • Ensure that the skills of the team are at the right level.
  • Manage team activities (daily management control meeting).
  • Ensure that the team is working safely.
  • Lead quality KPI management to achieve quality objectives, driving improvement/corrective actions and escalation.
  • Resolve systemic/chronic or major quality issues (Top Warranty, Recalls, etc.).
  • Provide technical support for Yard Holds / Product Related Issues (PRI's) as a technical referent inside the PRI.
  • Set-up / On-going Controls for Process / product Standards for Vehicle & System Functional Objectives (i.e. ADAS, BSR, FEA).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering Department, Vehicle/mechanic Plant, or Project team.
  • Ability to lead an Engineering team to deliver product changes and launches on time.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, from high-level meetings down to the shop floor.
  • Ability to work off shift hours as necessary.
  • Self-motivated and directed.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity environment while working on multiple projects.
  • Rigorous and pragmatic.
  • Languages: Plant language & English.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree.
  • Green belt.
  • World Class Manufacturing experience.
Additional Must Haves:
  • Strong leadership; influence and challenge the team to achieve goals.
  • Ability to communicate; represent technical challenges in front of senior leadership; develop strategies to resolve complex problems.
  • Technical awareness; familiar with automotive electronic systems including modules and how to troubleshoot; investigate problems.
  • 100% on site - Windsor Assembly Plant.
  • Minimal travel required - primarily no travel at this time.
  • Driving a Client vehicle is required.
