Minimum Qualifications

  • Class 5 driver’s license, clean abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work outdoors in inclement weather
  • Proficient in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education focused on civil engineering or related technical field
  • Technical knowledge of aggregate and asphalt quality, CCIL Type C certification, and quarry experience
  • CSA or ACI concrete testing certifications

Day in The Life

As a Quality Control Road Technician, you will become an expert in asphalt, aggregate, and concrete, conducting regular laboratory and field tests to ensure all products are in compliance with standards and procedures. It will be important to ensure that measuring equipment is calibrated and all material is properly tested and examined, as all discrepancies must be accurately reported. You will have the opportunity to visit multiple sites in the area, developing a full understanding of what goes into our roads to maintain the highest quality products. Safety will always be your number one priority, as you will be responsible for complying with all guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all around you.
