JOB OBJECTIVE

The main responsibility of this position is to lead the team, emphasizing the ability to perform on-going product inspection processes, while maintaining the standards of production and ensuring products meet quality standard requirements. The secondary responsibility is to perform occasional sewing assignments or garment repairs when required.

NATURE AND SCOPE

This position reports to the Quality Control Manger. QC Lead Inspector is responsible for overseeing and guiding team of inspectors and for performing bulk inspections and ensures that incoming shipments meet product specifications as per pre-approved materials’ quality/color and Technical Package. This role is critical and ensures that every product received meets all QA standards and requirements

Accountabilities

  • Actively participate in and supervise QC inspections, providing hands-on guidance to the inspection team.
  • Set priorities and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of inspections
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System to manage shipment schedules, inspection planning, reporting, and inventory tracking.
  • Inspect bulk products for compliance with approved fabric quality, color, and sizing specifications, identifying and recording any out-of-tolerance measurements or defects.
  • Measure all selected for size inspection items according to style’s sizing specifications and record all findings. Identify all out of tolerance measurements.
  • Perform inspection of garment’s workmanship and keep accurate record all noticed defects.
  • Communicate to the Quality Control Manager and Assistant Manager all workmanship, fabrication and size discrepancies that do not attain full standards.
  • Record all bulk inspection results on QC Management drive and/or Warehouse Management System
  • Coordinate and perform additional bulk inspections and washing process on bulk shipments when required
  • Perform unpacking and repacking of all inspected garments
  • Perform repairs/cleaning of affected garments prior to returning them back to stock.
  • Maintain fabric color library to facilitate product inspections
  • Perform repairs and other sewing projects when required.
  • Keep accurate inventory records of all zippers, trims and sewing supplies.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned within the department.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in related garment Quality Control field (inspections/processes) with a focus on knit garments and technical outerwear
  • Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience
  • Solid knowledge of garment construction, trims, fabrics, and material specifics etc.
  • Basic sewing ability and knowledge of industrial sewing equipment
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive attitude and upbeat personality, flexibility.
  • Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized with can do attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
