Job Description: QC Inspector

Location: Edmonton, AB

As a QC Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, Code, and Specification compliance of our client's fabrication and manufacturing processes. Your expertise and experience in welding, assembly, vessel, piping, and general inspection will be invaluable in maintaining their high standards and driving the company forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding Inspection: Conduct comprehensive welding inspections, ensuring compliance with industry codes such as CWB 178.2, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, ASME sections I, VIII, IX, CSA W59, and W47.1.
  • Project Quality: Execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) for projects. Conduct inspections to maintain project quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Assist in implementing and maintaining all Quality Control System requirements to achieve and uphold certification.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate and lead, as circumstances permit, in the writing, implementation, and enforcement of project-specific quality plans.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to industry-specific codes and standards, guaranteeing the safety and integrity of the products.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and compliance reports.
  • Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) and Pressure Testing: If qualified, perform or direct NDE as required and oversee pressure testing, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Material Verification: Verify materials and MTRs for Code compliance and maintain traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Coating Inspection: Oversee painting and coating inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Client Liaison: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure project compliance with specifications.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CWB Welding Inspector certification is required.
  • Alberta Journeyman Red Seal B-Pressure and CWB Structural Welder certification is considered an asset.
  • Engineering and/or Engineering Technology education is an asset.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas Manufacturing Industry.
  • Thorough understanding and familiarity with industry codes.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development.
  • CINDE Membership.
