Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector at our Edmonton area facility. You will directly inspect products to ensure QA/QC standards, and maintain inspection documentation and OPLs in line with safety rules and customer specs.

You will perform daily in-process and final inspections and report issues to the Quality Supervisor. This role requires attention to detail, ability to read drawings and tape measures, and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• QA/QC procedures alignment with standards and customer specs.
• Daily inspection of in-process units and final inspections.
• Document control and paperwork review for defects.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain QA/QC control documentation
• Document Control - organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos provided by inspectors
• Daily inspection of in process units: ensure sealing is completed, no missing parts, and all other in process inspections are of high quality
• Ensure productions are inspected as determined by company requirements, checking of paperwork
• Daily inspection of paperwork for all in process units and report any deficiencies to Quality Supervisor
• Complete sub assembly inspections such as: motors, coil, evap., furnace, and paint
• Complete unit final inspections
• Review inspection documents and make unit packages
• Report any observed safety issues to the Safety Coach or Safety Coordinator
• Assist with education of other inspectors and production team members
• Inspect drawings and marking/breaking work and ensure it is correct
• Assist marking with Engineering changes where drawings are not correct and submit to Quality Supervisor
• Inspect all aspect of units with the appropriate forms from the beginning to the end and record all discrepancies
• Organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos
• Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code
• Other duties as required

Overview

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for direct examination of product to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and align with legislation and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's quality assurance procedures and policies and identifying defects and/or production errors to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. The QC document Control Clerk is responsible for control of documentation, OPL creation, etc.

• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and perform simple mathematical fractional equations.
• Ability to read blueprints is considered an asset.
