Cpflexpack in Canada is seeking a Quality Operations Technician to assure quality and operational compliance to customer and company specifications. The role covers GMP, SQF and food safety, with responsibility for documentation, CCP monitoring, and supporting production on night/afternoon shifts.

This is initially a 3-month temp through an agency with potential to move to full-time. You'll back up lab techs, collect samples, inspect prints, and drive continuous improvement with Operations on

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1–2 years in printing, food, or regulated industry with knowledge of cGMPs (21CFR 117/111/210/211).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCPs and food safety throughout manufacturing.
  • Document records accurately and timely.
  • Ensure correct recipe guidelines are met during processing.
  • Educate employees on quality expectations.
  • Collect samples for the Quality lab.
  • Inspect in-process prints for quality and accuracy according to customer specs.
  • Identify non-conformances and correct them in real time.
  • Assist Operations on presses, slitter and lamination for continuous improvement.
  • Complete paperwork on production lines in a timely manner.

Job description

The primary job responsibilities of the position are to ensure quality and operational compliance to the customer and CP specifications. Responsible for the quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product. The Quality Operations Technician must follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards. This position is also a back-up technician and will be required to support the vacation / sick of other technicians on Night shifts or Afternoon shifts.

This position will start off as a 3-month temp role through one of our supporting agencies. Following the completion of 3-months and successful training, there will be an opportunity to move to FT.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for monitoring and identifying critical control points (CCP) within the processes.
  • Responsible for monitoring processes and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for the correct documentation and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.
  • Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.
  • Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.
  • Ensures and educates employees on quality expectations.
  • Collect product samples for the Quality lab.
  • Perform inspections on in-process printing to ensure quality and accuracy of the print according to customer specifications
  • Identifying non-conformances and ensuring they are corrected “real time” when feasible.
  • Working directly with Operations on the presses, slitter, lamination, etc. to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Act as backup for lab techs as needed
  • Ensuring paperwork is accurate and filled out in a timely manner on the production lines.
  • The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
  • Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
    • SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
      • Employee Health and Safety
      • SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
  • Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Special Projects & other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in printing, food or regulated industry with knowledge of cGMP’s (21CFR 117/111/210/211).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package software is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential.
Other knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.
  • Prior experience in food environment a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must possess a positive “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment
  • Flexible availability; we work nights, afternoons and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must be able to make immediate decisions on disposition
  • Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
