TechInsights in Ottawa is seeking a QA Co-op Student to join our on-site team. You will design and execute automated test scripts and help enhance testing processes while gaining hands-on experience in test automation, QA, and software development.

Qualifications

This role is an on-site role at our Ottawa office.

Our Quality Assurance (QA) team is eagerly seeking a QA Co-op Student who excels in problem-solving. In this role you will Contribute to TechInsights Platform software quality by designing and executing automated test scripts. Work collaboratively to enhance testing processes and gain hands-on experience in test automation, quality assurance, and software development. What You’ll Do
  • Test Script Development
    • Collaborate with software development teams to understand project requirements and design comprehensive test cases
    • Utilize programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or scripting languages) to develop automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing
    • Work closely with developers to integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
  • Test Execution and Analysis
    • Execute automated test scripts and analyze results to identify defects, ensuring software meets quality standards
    • Investigate and report issues, providing detailed information to assist developers in troubleshooting and resolution
    • Conduct root cause analysis for identified defects, collaborating with the development team to implement corrective actions
  • Report and metrics analysis - Tools design
    • Develop Reporting Tools - Design and implement automated tools to generate reports that provide insights into QA team performance, test results, and defect trends
    • o Create Interactive Dashboards - Build user-friendly dashboards that visualize key QA metrics, enabling real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making
    • o Optimize Data Processes - Streamline data collection, processing, and presentation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in QA reporting
What You’ll Bring
  • 3rd or 4th year university student in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Programming proficiency: Python, Java, or scripting languages
  • Test automation tools experience: Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent
  • Software development life cycle understanding
  • Version control system knowledge: Git
  • Agile methodologies familiarity
  • Problem-solving skills: defect analysis and solution proposal

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This role is completely on-site in Ottawa working closely with the QA and Software Development teams.
