Job summary

Richardson International invites applications for a QA Technician (21 Month Term) based in Lethbridge, AB. You will perform quality assurance testing, support lab analysis, and ensure compliance with safety and product specifications.

You will work with cross-functional teams to analyse blends, incoming materials, and finished goods, while contributing to food safety systems and ongoing improvements within the quality program.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Chemistry.
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and procedures.
• Clear written and verbal communication of food safety and quality requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willing to work shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Perform quality assurance testing, analysis and technical support.
• Analyze blends and finished product to ensure specifications are met.
• Test and report on incoming raw materials, packaging and finished goods.
• Interface with production and management to ensure lab specifications are implemented.
• Contribute to development and improvement of the food safety and quality management system.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules
• Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:
• Provide quality assurance testing, analysis and technical support Analysis of blends and finished product to ensure specifications are met
• Testing & reporting on incoming raw materials, packaging & finished goods
• Interface with production personnel and management to ensure operating conditions are maintained and laboratory specifications are effectively implemented
• Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of the food safety and quality management system
• Must work within established OH&S regulations and comply with all Company policies & procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry
• Comprehension of & familiarity with lab instrumentation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly describe the food safety and quality requirements for producing food products to all staff.
• Excellent written, documentation and verbal communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications specifically Word, Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills and team work ability
• Willing to work shifts and overtime
