Qualifications

Job description

AAA Canada is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to add expertise to our team. The Specialist will track customer complaints, monitor performance measures, and play a leading role in improvement initiatives and risk analyses. He / she will also produce the company's quality performance measures and monitor targets. The Quality Assurance Specialist must review manufacturing documents and, if necessary, validate official certification documents and MRB provisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal and external audits (Transport Canada, AS9100, customers and suppliers);
  • Drafting of procedures, reports and compliance documents;
  • Review of internal manufacturing documents;
  • Follow-up and implementation of internal and external corrective actions (customers and suppliers);
  • Main point of contact for all MAI customer issues and corrective actions;
  • Play a leadership role in the implementation of corrective actions within the organization;
  • Prepare quality analyses and KPI data required to produce performance measurement reports (KPI) for the quality of our suppliers;
  • Participate in process risk analysis activities;
  • Meet federal controlled goods program requirements (background investigations);
  • Experience with Transport Canada standards (561 and 573) and AS9100 and relevant certification audits;
  • Ability to understand and follow plans, specifications, technical specifications and test protocols, analyze complex assembly configurations and assess their conformity to the design configuration;
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications and product and process specifications (English and French);
  • General knowledge of aerospace materials;
  • Knowledge of aeronautical manufacturing, assembly and testing processes is an asset;
  • A basic knowledge / understanding of the usual special processes is required (heat treatment, NDT, shot peening, electroplating, anodizing, thermal spraying, painting, etc.).

Skills and qualifications

  • DEC in aeronautics or mechanics, or any combination of university studies and experience deemed equivalent;
  • 5 to 8 years' experience in quality assurance in the aerospace industry;
  • ASQ certification (CQA, CQE, CQM...) / Lead Auditor certification will be considered an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, liaison between the customer and our suppliers;
  • Structure and organization in the workplace;
  • Attention to detail and excellent observation skills;
  • Computer literate, MS Office suit. Understanding / experience of MS Access and INFOR ERP would be an asset;
  • Experience in problem solving and continuous improvement is an asset.
  • Oral and written bilingualism (French - English) is an important asset for communication in the multilingual environment of the customer site and technical documentation.

Required experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
