Job description

Are you a meticulous problem-solver who finds satisfaction in the science of quality? Evercloak is searching for a hands-on QA/QC Lead to join our growing team.

As our QA/QC Lead, you won’t just be following checklists; you will be the guardian of our product integrity. You will play a foundational role in refining our quality systems from the ground up, ensuring that every coating solution, membrane, cartridge and system we develop meets the highest standards of excellence. If you enjoy a \"hands-on\" environment where your technical expertise directly influences product development and scaling, this is the role for you.

What Does Evercloak Do?

As the world’s population continues to grow, the demand for sustainable energy, clean water, and food intensifies. Meeting these essential needs without accelerating climate change is one of humanity’s greatest challenges.

Evercloak's vision is to leverage cutting-edge graphene technologies to reinvent the energy, clean water and food solutions needed for a growing population, while protecting the planet.

Our first focus is simple and bold: cooling the planet sustainably. By starting here, we deliver energy efficient cooling solutions that safeguards health and well-being in a warming world.

What Would I Be Doing?

As Evercloak’s QA/QC Lead, you will:

  • Prepare coating solutions and membrane samples to support internal testing and final product development.

  • Perform critical QC testing and inspections on raw materials, coating formulations, membranes, and membrane assemblies to ensure peak performance.

  • Develop and evolve our QA/QC methods, instrumentation, and infrastructure to assess membrane quality, consistency, and performance.

  • Support the development and execution of standardized operating procedures, to prepare lab-based coating solutions and membrane samples for testing.

  • Accurately collect, organize, and document sample preparation and evaluation data.

  • Support quality checks and documentation for related components and assemblies as needed, using defined checklists and acceptance criteria.

  • Maintain high-precision lab equipment, and ensure systems are operating properly and calibration standards are always met.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot deviations and eliminate product defects.

  • Contribute directly to the evolution of our Quality Management System (QMS) and lead the way during quality audits.

What are We Looking For?

Evercloak is looking for a candidate who:

  • Takes immense pride in the accuracy of their work.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where processes are constantly evolving.

  • Is a self-starter who is just as comfortable analyzing data in Excel as you are handling materials in a manufacturing setting.

  • Has strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.

  • Has strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify process or quality issues.

  • Has the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Your Background Likely Includes:
  • A degree or diploma in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a lab, manufacturing, or QA/QC environment, including co-op or internship experience.

  • Familiarity with analytical techniques (like SEM, FTIR, or AFM) and a deep understanding of membrane fabrication or coating processes.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a \"safety-first\" mindset when handling chemicals and technical equipment.

  • The ability to identify a process issue and work independently or with a team to find a lean, effective solution.

What Else Should I Know?
  • This is a 12-month, contract position, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent role.

  • Evercloak has a 40 hour work week.

  • This is a fully onsite position based in Kitchener, Ontario.

  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Proof of credentials and a satisfactory background check is required.

  • We are offering a competitive salary of $85 - $100k/year.

  • This job has a dynamic mix of laboratory and manufacturing settings and includes handling materials and equipment that may at times be heavy to move or operate.
