QA Manager - Electronic Arts [EAQAM250804]

About Us!

Founded in 2011, Hatch Innovations is based in Vancouver and has an international team with over 80 people located across the globe. We’re creative thinkers who have a passion for technology and are constantly thinking of innovative solutions to help better serve your business and customers. Our clients include video game publishers such as Electronic Arts, Epic Games and Krafton.

EA - Project Air:

Project Air is a new kind of mobile platform — part creative stage, part storytelling tool, part social experience — powered by AI and real-time interaction. Imagine the creative freedom and discovery of TikTok, the emotional texture of Pixar, and the emergent storytelling of the Sims, fused into something entirely new.

We're building a space where people don't just watch or post — they create, perform, and co-invent new characters, stories, and worlds. It's expressive, emotional, and deeply interactive.

About the Role!

We’re hiring a QA Manager with over 7 years of experience in mobile application testing to lead our quality assurance team, overseeing both manual and automated testing efforts. This role will focus on establishing QA strategies, managing test teams, and ensuring high-quality iOS and Android applications across diverse device types and OS versions.

You will be working in an engineering-oriented fast-paced environment, with minimal management and detailed task definition. You need to be a self-starter and excel at making your own decisions and organizing your work according to the declared goals.

This is a remote position with working hours in Pacific Time (PT).

You will

  • Lead the QA strategy, planning, and execution for mobile apps across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Manage a hybrid team of manual and automation testers.
  • Define test plans, test cases, and regression strategies for new and existing features.
  • Ensure thorough testing across different form factors and OS versions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to understand features and edge cases.
  • Track and report on quality metrics and defect trends.
  • Coach team members, conduct performance reviews, and manage hiring as needed.

You have

  • 7+ years of experience in QA, with a strong track record of managing QA teams focused on both manual and automated mobile app testing.
  • Proven experience leading QA efforts across iOS and Android platforms, including testing across different form factors and OS versions.
  • Strong expertise in manual mobile application testing, with a deep understanding of mobile UX/UI nuances.
  • Hands-on experience with mobile test automation frameworks, preferably Appium.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test management systems.
  • Solid understanding of iOS and Android OS fragmentation and strategies to ensure broad device compatibility.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a resident of Canada and be eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to work during the Pacific Time Zone's regular business hours
  • Flexible to attend remote meetings during the evening when required.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Appium, XCUITest, or Espresso.
  • Experience with performance and stress testing on mobile devices.
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments.
