JOB DESCRIPTION


JOB SUMMARY:


This position involves Weld Program administration functions including Welder Qualification and Maintenance, Weld Procedure development, Non-Destructive Testing Examiner functions, and effective Project Management and customer interaction as required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


1. Ensure Welder/Brazer Qualification program is operated in accordance with industry and customer requirements.


2. Develop and/or revise Company Weld Procedures in accordance with customer and industry standards, or as needed to economize processes and procedures.


3. Maintain/obtain Level III Examiner certification in accordance with The American Society for Nondestructive Testing, SNT-TC-1A for Visual Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing and Ultrasonic Testing methods.


4. Perform testing and certification of Level II Non-destructive test personnel in accordance with Company Written Practice for Nondestructive Testing personnel.


5. Perform regular documented internal audits of the company's weld program.


6. Review and evaluate external supplier's weld programs for compliance prior to utilization.


7. Represent the Company(s) during customer and regulatory audits of the Company's welding, and Non-destructive Testing programs, including maintenance of auditable records, and close out of customer generated audit finding reports.


8. When called upon and in conjunction with customer representatives, research customer specifications and drawings to advise as to best practices related to welding and non-destructive testing.


9. Serve as the Company's primary Level III Examiner to oversee outsourced adjunct Level III Examiners when utilized.


10. Perform other duties as assigned.






JOB REQUIREMENTS


QUALIFICATIONS:


1. High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree or associate degree preferred.


2. QA NDT Inspector Level III certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment.


3. Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.


4. Must have Microsoft Office Software experience.


5. Knowledge of NAVWELD/NAVNDT a plus.


6. Ability to pass drug test and background check.


7. Ability to gain access to military installations.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


1. Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.


2. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.



This can be a physically demanding position and may accommodate some physical disabilities. Physical dexterity may be required when performing walk thru and inspection of job sites and when operating calculators, copiers, computers and/or other typical office equipment.


In the performance of the walk thru you will be required to transverse steep stairwells, vertical ladders and bend or stoop thru tight spaces. There may be occasional lifting of materials weighing not more than 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:


This position works in an office environment and on the jobsite. There is some exposure to hostile


environments, loud noises, hazardous chemicals, smoke, and extreme temperatures.



During work-site visits will be required to wear appropriate PPE including, but not limited to:


Hard hat, Ear plugs or attenuator, Safety shoes, Dust mask or respirator, Gloves
