Job description

QA Lead

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games. As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a QA Lead to join the team and help us in crafting the high caliber games our fans have come to expect.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform consistent daily observation, research, review, and reporting of operations process adherence for all current assigned projects.
  2. Assign tasks within the local QA team, and nurture a healthy working environment in alignment with company values.
  3. Participate in the performance review process, help gather feedback, and share it with other QA teams internationally.
  4. Maintain, advance, and promote knowledge in the field of quality assurance.
  5. Gather feedback and data to create and facilitate both project postmortems and ongoing improvements.
  6. Proactively identify possible issues, propose solutions, and plan goals for the QA department.
  7. Overview, creation, maintenance, and prioritization of Test Plans for multiple, concurrent projects.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in QA operations in a leadership position.
  2. Positive and team-oriented attitude.
  3. Understanding of game production pipeline and tools.
  4. Good judgment to estimate the significance and consequences of the bugs.
  5. Rigorous and methodical, autonomous and resourceful approach.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  7. Expertise in cross-cultural business and remote team interaction and leadership.
  8. Excellent ability to delegate tasks across a team.
  9. Exceptional critical analysis skills.
  10. Passion for video games.

Nice to Have

  1. Basic knowledge of Jenkins and Perforce.
  2. Experience in programming and/or scripting.
  3. Experience in QA in software and tools.
  4. Familiar with JIRA, Confluence, and Google Sheets.
  5. Familiar with the RPG genre and you have played many RPGs extensively and critically.
