Job description

Our client, aplastic manufacturing company in North York, is looking for a QA Inspector to join their growing team.

Working location: North York, ON

Working hours: Monday to Friday (weekend as needed)

Pay rate: $16.55-$17/hr

As a member of the Quality Assurance team, the Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for the execution of QA specific requirements at the site. The QA Inspector will promote and consistently exemplify the organizations values as well as uphold safety polices including safe work practices at the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Approve the First-off samples for each job at the beginning of the shift.
  • Print labels for each job running at work cell.
  • Inspect and certify the finished good.
  • Monitor production process and ensure parts are made based on the required level of quality.
  • Check parts in-process for quality, according to Work Guidance.
  • Report any problems to the Production Supervisor and/ or Set-up Technicians.
  • Work with production personnel to contain and resolve quality issues.
  • Perform SPC (shot weight/ dimensional) for work cells running 'semi' machines.
  • Perform color checks, dimensional/ function checks for work cells running 'semi' machines.
  • Perform hourly line checks.
  • Training new operators.
  • Complete shift and finished product audits and maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Participate in shift quality meeting in the area of operation.
  • Ensure department cleanliness and safety.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience in a manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Previous quality assurance experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Shows respect in the workplace to all departments and peers.
