On behalf of our Utilities Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a QA Developer to join our Client's team on a Full-time Permanent basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Burnaby, BC.

Summary of the Role:
Our Client is seeking a QA Developer to support the quality assurance efforts of their smart grid infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining test frameworks, improving CI/CD pipelines, and validating performance across distributed industrial IoT applications. This role involves both manual and automated testing and supports end-to-end quality validation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for distributed IoT systems.
  • Execute manual and automated test plans to ensure software reliability and performance.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines for efficient test integration.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA team to identify and resolve application issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team-based quality initiatives.
Core Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of QA/testing experience in the technology industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Perl, Bash, and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency with automation and test tools such as Selenium, JMeter, or JUnit.
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Jira/Confluence.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with database testing and Oracle SQL.
  • Experience with test planning and automated regression suites.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary environments involving hardware and networking.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and real-time application validation.
  • Experience visualizing test results with analytics or custom dashboards.

Terms:
This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Burnaby, BC, with a hybrid work arrangement (2–3 days onsite per week). The role requires the use of company-provided hardware. At the offer stage, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a background check and provide three professional references.
