Location: Remote (Canada Edmonton, AB preferred)
Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)


Rate: $60 $65/hour C2C (All-inclusive, including HST)


Security Clearance: Enhanced Security Clearance (RCMP Top Secret eligibility may be required)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a results-driven QA Automation Developer to lead quality assurance efforts for digital services delivered by a government client. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing test strategies, automation frameworks, and supporting the continuous delivery of secure, high-quality applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios aligned with agile delivery.
  • Design and execute system, performance, load, and security tests.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for rapid and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Promote Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD) within development teams.
  • Integrate code linting, test coverage analysis, and enforce testing standards.
  • Leverage AI-based testing tools and reusable components to optimize quality assurance.
  • Track and report automated metrics and generate quality artifacts for stakeholders.
  • Support UAT and cross-functional collaboration to validate end-user requirements.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years experience with automation test script creation and modification.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in:
    • Preparing automation test plans
    • Using automation testing frameworks
    • Conducting load, performance, security, and end-to-end testing
  • Minimum 2 years experience in:
    • Developing new automation scripts
    • Version control using GitHub

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • API testing
  • Working knowledge of Cucumber and/or Gherkin
  • Familiarity with Cypress
  • Experience defining and managing automation testing metrics
  • Proven contribution to QA automation standards in teams
  • Hands-on with Jira Xray
  • Involvement in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for complex platforms

Additional Requirements:

  • Must provide three professional references with relevant project experience.
  • Project experience must include clear dates: MMM/YYYY MMM/YYYY.
  • Must complete mandatory onboarding training (FOIP, Cybersecurity, Information Management, Respect in the Workplace).
  • Occasional travel within Alberta may be required for field/user research.
  • Must be eligible for Enhanced Security Clearance (Top Secret RCMP may be requested later).
