Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for the OHdio Team (French Services). This hybrid/telework contract role requires English and French fluency and a strong shift-left testing mindset, working with Playwright, Appium and TestRail across iOS, Android, web, and smart devices.

You will champion quality from requirements through release, shaping test architecture and ensuring rapid, reliable releases while upholding CBC/Radio-Canada standards.

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working on complex web and mobile application development projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with shift-left QA practices (e.g., drafting acceptance criteria and test cases prior to development).
• Deep understanding of application life cycles across iOS, Android and web environments.
• Fluency in French (required).

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in design sessions to identify acceptance criteria, edge cases, risks and functional ambiguities before development begins.
• Act as a quality gatekeeper to ensure features meet all readiness criteria before entering the development workflow.
• Draft and maintain structured test cases (BDD/steps) in TestRail, prioritizing them as the product evolves.
• Define feature-level test strategies alongside developers, determining the appropriate test types across each layer.
• Identify and prepare necessary test data for validation.
• Collaborate with developers during sprints to clarify acceptance criteria and resolve ambiguous technical behaviours.
• Perform incremental validations throughout the sprint to catch defects early.
• Document defects with clear, reproducible steps so developers can act on them immediately.
• Help build, expand and maintain our automated test suite in collaboration with developers.
• Actively participate in the release management process.
• Track and analyze quality KPIs to drive data-informed retrospectives.
• Share best practices with other QAAs to maintain consistent approaches across projects.
• Empower all team members to work autonomously and take ownership of quality.
