Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) in Mississauga, ON is seeking a QA Analyst onsite to join our software quality team. You will document defects, analyze problems, and help design test plans across databases, apps, and integrations.

Qualifications

• Document software defects using Jira and report to developers.

• Document test procedures for replicability and standards compliance.
• Plan test schedules or strategies per project scope and delivery dates.
• Conduct software compatibility tests across programs, hardware, OS, or networks.
• Review software documentation for accuracy and risk mitigation.
• Provide feedback on usability and functionality.
• Monitor program performance for efficiency and reliability.
• Investigate customer problems from technical support.
• Perform historical analyses of test results.
• Do initial debugging by reviewing logs, configs, or code pieces.

Title: QA Analyst GCA: IC - 4

As a QA Analyst your day your day-to-day job responsibilities will involve:

• Documenting software defects, using a Jira bug tracking system, and reporting defects to software developers.
• Identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
• Creating and or improving test plans that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability.
• Documenting test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards.
• Planning test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
• Conducting software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
• Testing system modifications to prepare for implementation.
• Reviewing software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks.
• Providing feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality.
• Monitoring program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations.
• Investigating customer problems referred by technical support.
• Conducting historical analyses of test results.
• Performing initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown source.
• Collaborating with field staff or customers to evaluate or diagnose problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or working experience in lieu of the degree.
• Experience in a technology-based setup.
• Working knowledge of various testing methodologies and tools
• Continuous improvement mindset demonstrable through projects etc.
• Experience with XML and Json files as well as editors such as Altova, Sublime & Visual Studio Code
• Previous experience working in a gas station or c-store would be beneficial
• Working experience with loyalty, mobile and card based payment systems will be required
