Job summary

Iris Software Inc. is assisting a Top 5 Canadian bank in Toronto, inviting applications for a Python Engineer on a long-term contract. The role focuses on backend development, microservices, and leveraging AI/GenAI tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Python development experience, backend and microservices.
• Experience using AI/GenAI coding tools to support development, troubleshooting, testing, and productivity.
• Unix/Linux and Shell/Bash scripting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with MQ messaging.
• Understanding of SDLC, design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
• DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Exposure to TLS, SSL, HTTPS, firewalls, and application/network security concepts.
• Experience collaborating with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Exposure to Confluence, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
• Cloud technologies experience is an advantage.
• SWIFT and/or Sanctions domain experience is a plus.

Iris's client, one of the Top 5 Bank in Canada is looking to hire a Python Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity.

Position: Python Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Role –4 Days in Office/week)

Duration: Long Term Contract (12+ Months)

Must-have

• Strong hands-on Python development experience, particularly backend applications and microservices.
• Strong experience using AI/GenAI coding tools to support software development, troubleshooting, testing, and productivity.
