About The Role

The Purchasing Specialist plays a vital role in InterAtlas Chemicals’ supply chain by managing the acquisition of raw intermediate chemicals and ensuring timely and efficient delivery to customers. This role is critical in maintaining smooth purchasing operations while adhering to regulatory compliance, particularly while handling and transporting hazardous materials and strategically planning and allocating materials based on customer needs, while closely monitoring inventory levels to ensure consistent product availability. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally to optimize planning and purchasing process.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  1. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth purchasing operations.
  2. Work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer, Sales and Operations to forecast demand for products and ensure timely purchasing to prevent shortages or excessive inventory.
  3. Utilize in-house purchasing software and tools to manage purchase orders, sales orders and supplier transactions.
  4. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to hazardous materials and chemical handling.
  5. Work closely with inventory and warehouse teams to remain up to date on stock levels.
  6. Maintain and update critical documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Certificates of Analysis (COA) for internal records and customer requirements.
  7. Collaborate with Accounting department to process purchase orders, sales orders and closing reports.

QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO US:

  1. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in purchasing, supply chain, planning or procurement roles.
  2. Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and adapt to changing business needs.
  4. Extremely detail oriented and thorough with outstanding organizational skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel) and experience with purchasing or ERP software.
  6. Solid understanding of Incoterms and North American geography for logistics and transportation planning.
