Agrifoods International Cooperative Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our supply chain team for maternity leave coverage (Nov 2026 - Mar 2028). You will manage procurement for materials and services, collaborate with production planners, and ensure timely, cost-effective acquisitions to support manufacturing.

Ideal candidates have strong negotiation and ERP skills, with 5+ years in procurement, and experience in food/beverage or packaging indirect categories.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years in Procurement, preferably in Food & Beverage / Packaging sectors.
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in SCM/Operations/Business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support smooth and optimized production planning on the lines.
  • Coordinate with supply chain team to ensure continuous supply of Raw Materials & Packaging.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to log day-to-day procurement challenges.
  • Assist with ERP system tasks and supplier communications.

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our supply chain team for maternity leave coverage (Nov 2026 - March 2028) within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role offers hands-on experience in purchasing, working with production planners, operations, supplier communications, and inventory coordination. The successful candidate will handle all purchasing activities that ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services essential to production.

Experience
  • You have at least 5 years or relevant experience working in Procurement (preferably in a similar capacity within the Food & Beverage industry , Packaging /indirect categories )
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field, mathematics, or related field preferred.
NICE-TO-HAVE
  • Experience in inventory & warehouse management
  • Familiarity with production planning and scheduling

  • Support supply chain team for continuous supply of Raw Material & Packaging to facilitate smooth production while maintaining an optimal on-hand inventory
